Also unable to move into new home in Addison Road Hove because of bomb damage.Separated from husband in 1943. Raising two sons on her own, she worked first from home as a dressmaker and later until age 63 in the 'rag Trade' as a 'passer'. From 1943 until 1994 lived first in ground floor then 1st floor flat 16 Buckingham Road Brighton. After that Sheltered/Care Homes in Brighton and Shoreham. Fractured hip and arm in February 2003 and recovered in Elton Lodge Care home. Received 100 year birthday greetings from Queen, Pensions Minister and Chair of Adur District Council.
