Note on Marriage

Father Daniel was witness to marriage but was in London EnglandSolomon’s first wife Abigail Orobio Furtado was buried on the 6 July 1751 in Car 100 Sep 13, he reserved the adjacent grave Car 100 Sep 12 in which he was buried on the 17 Nov. 1776 even though he had remarried to Clara Palache in 1752.1

- Departed Amsterdam on 22/11/1773, arrived Suriname on 19/02/1774 Benjamin Mendoca on Twee Jans en Gysbertus, Captain Nicholas Reenenberg. He was paid NF. 100 to leave Holland for 20 years.

Names A-N of the archive registers PA334-978/979 in Gemeentearchief van Amsterdam. The lists cover the period 1757-1813 with all the names of the poor Sephardic Jews who were granted an amount in Dutch guilders against the promise to leave Amsterdam and not to return within the next 20 years. 22 Nov 1773 Binjamin Mendoza given Hfl 100 for his passage to Surinam.
